CLEFT LIP AND PALATE AWARENESS

Cleft lip and palate are birth defects that are the most common and serious birth defects of   the face and mouth. In the United States over 7,000 babies are born every year with these birth defects. Multidisciplinary treatment of clefts is very successful but still challenging for persons affected in their families. Importantly, we can learn what is causing them and use this knowledge for their prevention.
